Unsuk Chin’s Puzzles and Games
Unsuk Chin distilled Puzzles & Games from her opera Alice in Wonderland to create an exquisitely woven sonic tapestry. Fittingly for music based on Lewis Carrol’s madcap tale, this work takes vignettes from her opera alongside a selection from her snagS&Snarls to create a truly kaleidoscopic orchestral song cycle. With scenes, episodes, and moments from the opera, this music portrays the mad and the comic brilliantly with Chin’s evocative and ephemeral style.
