Tchaikovsky at the Royal Concertgebouw
A composer whose output is a core pillar of the repertoire, Tchaikovsky’s oeuvre is diverse and rich. A program bookended by Romantic fantasy as only Tchaikovsky can create, this concert opens with his Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, and closes with the suite from his ballet, Swan Lake. Between, star violinist Simone Lamsma performs his well-loved Violin Concerto; once written off as unplayable this work is now recognised as one of the most popular classical compositions of all time.
