MSO Conductor in Residence Benjamin Northey leads the orchestra in one of its first performances from the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. From ominous beginnings, Beethoven’s Seventh is taken over by a driving rhythm that propels the orchestra through the music. Eschewing the traditional second slow movement, this work transforms its relentless energy through each movement through to its wild finale.
