2022 Cybec Showcase
For almost twenty years, the Cybec Foundation has generously supported the MSO in helping enrich and shape the careers and practices of emerging Australian composers. This year, under the baton of Richard Davis, join us for the world premiere of new Australian works by Melissa Douglas, John Rotar, Natalie Nicolas and Angus Davison. Be drawn in by the ebbs and flows of Melissa Douglas' piece Wave Variations, find yourselves on the edge of your seats as John Rotar's Shighrata almost runs away from the conductor and musicians, relax and sink into Natalie Nicolas' Union, and go on a journey that unravels Bach's famous cello suite in Angus Davison's My Mother Plays the Cello (featuring a solo by Michelle Wood).
