Ever since its triumphant Dublin premiere in 1742, Messiah has become a beloved Christmas tradition. Equally a tradition is its reorchestration, Sir Andrew’s of which was a Grammy nominated work. Keeping Handel’s notes, harmonies, and style intact, Sir Andrew’s orchestration acts much like a digital remastering of a classic film: providing a delicate enhancement to deepen our understanding of Handel’s original intentions.
