Nothing spells mystery like an unfinished Requiem Mass. Mozart completed only the first movement of his Requiem before his death in December 1791, and the work was completed the following year by his student, Franz Xaver Süssmayr. Highlights include the mournful 'Lacrimosa' and the fiery 'Confutatis', which rose to popularity in Miloš Forman’s 1984 film Amadeus. In this performance from Mozart’s hometown of Salzburg, the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and conductor Christian Thielemann join an all-star cast including bass René Pape, soprano Golda Schultz, and mezzo-soprano Christa Mayer.
