MSO.LIVE brings you a special performance by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under celebrated conductor Gustavo Dudamel. Opening the concert is Mozart’s overture to The Magic Flute, which blends youthful melodic charm with the emotional power of Mozart’s mature style. Following is Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, a unique work in the composer’s output. Noted for its nostalgic and gentle explorations of childhood, innocence, and youth, the Symphony No. 4 was the last of Mahler’s ‘early’ symphonies in which he continued to integrate texts from his early song cycles. Performed in the stunning surrounds of Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, this performance is one not to miss.
